Jan 10, 2023 Graafschap Fire Department Training and Safety Captain Dave Grumney, right, talks about newly acquired equipment at the fire department, 4534 60th St., on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, to Graafschap Fire Board members Linda Howell of Laketown Township, left, and Bob Yonker of Fillmore Township, center. The items include rappelling and other rescue equipment to replace older models. The equipment was purchased thanks to a state MIOSHA Workplace Improvement to Safety and Health (MIWISH) Grant. The goal of the program is to create a safer and healthier work environment and reduce the risk of injury and illness to workers in Michigan. The $9,977.53 grant required a 50 percent match from the department.
