MILWAUKEE (WKZO-AM/FM) – The Shark is back in the waters of Lake Michigan again.
On Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023, off of Bradford Beach in Milwaukee, Jim Dreyer will attempt to not just duplicate his cross-lake swim of 1998, but to better it by 25 percent to 82.5 miles, arriving in his hometown of Grand Haven on Thursday.
Later this month, Brian Huffman will attempt Dreyer’s original route from Two Rivers, Wisconsin to Ludington, which is something that Dreyer is hoping can be accomplished.
An online link to Dreyer’s website, in which his progress can be monitored and those wishing to donate to the Grand Haven and Western Lake Michigan chapters of the US Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association, for which Dreyer is swimming for, is here.
