HOLLAND (WTHC-AM/FM) — Holland City Council is set to meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020, at Holland City Hall, 270 S. River Ave.
The main topic is including LGBTQIA people in equal-rights protections under the city’s current ordinance.
Councilman Dave Hoekstra says the atmosphere is different than it was nine years ago, when a 5-4 vote ended an opportunity to explore such protections.
The city has received dozens of emails as a form of public comment on the ordinance — the majority favor passage. A handful of people oppose the plan, some to the degree that they sent multiple emails to the city.
That’s not the only agenda item. Council members will also discuss parking changes on West 10th Street and on East 26th Street, and amending the GDK Brownfield Plan.
