HOLLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Former Holland Mayor Phil Tanis, who lost the Republican Party primary to incumbent Congressman Bill Huizenga, is splitting from his party to endorse Democrat Sean McCann.
Tanis says the same concerns that prompted him to challenge Huizenga are what compelled him to support the state senator from Kalamazoo.
McCann and Huizenga are locked in a very tight race for the 4th Congressional District, which has been held by a Republican for decades.
The midterm election is set for Tuesday, November 3rd.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
