HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – A bank on Holland’s North Side was the apparent target of a robbery late on Thursday morning.
According to Captain Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, a middle aged white male walked alone into the West Michigan Community Bank on Douglas Ave and demanded money from a teller.
The man is descibed as 40-50 years old, about 5’6-5’8 in height, and was wearing a white tshirt and dark shorts. He also had on a black and blue bandana and a dark-colored baseball cap.
The suspect was thought to have a weapon on his person but the weapon was not visible during the robbery. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is still confirming this detail.
After leaving the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored 4-door sedan.
The bank was empty of customers at the time of the robbery and no one was injured during the incident. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department will be updating their statement with more information as it becomes available
