UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 25, 2022) – Two persons who lost their lives within 90 minutes of each other in separate incidents on Monday afternoon have been identified.
On Friday, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department disclosed that it was 47-year-old Kathleen Varboncoeur of Muskegon who died when her vehicle slammed into the rear end of a Grand Haven Area Public Schools bus that had stopped for traffic congestion on southbound US-31 just past Taft Street north of Spring Lake. Her funeral service is set for next Wednesday morning at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in her hometown.
Meanwhile, Lakeshore Memorial Services announced funeral arrangements for Avery Bakker, the three-year-old boy who was killed in an apparent farming accident involving a tractor in Blendon Township. A service next Thursday afternoon will be held at the funeral home’s James Street location on Holland’s North Side.
Both incidents remain under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department.
