CASCO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — South Haven Area Emergency Services (SHAES) announced Wednesday that a construction worker has died in a trench collapse.
Officials say that the work was for a home building project on Lakeshore Drive in Casco Township.
At the time of the collapse, around 9:30 a.m., the worker was working on underground utilities at the new site approximately 12 feet below the surface.
orkers on scene were able to extricate the individual prior to EMS arrival, but the worker ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The incident is under investigation by the Allegan Sheriff Department.
The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time pending family notification.
