HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 17-year-old girl from Holland is in good condition after being hit while riding her bicycle.
The crash occurred at 144th Avenue and Butternut Drive Thursday evening around 10:11 p.m. Sgt. Jay Douglas with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says 56-year-old Pamela Billingsley of Holland was eastbound on Butternut Drive in a 1997 Buick when she had stopped at the stop sign and proceeded eastbound passing through the intersection before she struck a bicycle that was crossing Butternut Drive southbound.
Makayla Rodriguez was on her bicycle southbound on 144th Avenue in the crosswalk with her headlight on when she was stuck crossing the roadway. Rodriquez who was not wearing a helmet was thrown from her bicycle.
Rodriguez was treated at the scene by paramedics from the Sheriff’s Office before being transported by AMR ambulance to Holland Hospital for minor injuries
Alcohol use is not a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
