HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Holland Area Visitors Bureau has announced the winner of the 2018 Holland Visitor Guide Cover Photo Contest.
Holland resident Pamela Davis’ photo was chosen to grace the cover of the guide which is used as official tourism piece for the greater Holland area. The Holland Visitor Guide is a resource for leisure and group travelers, as well as conference and meeting attendees and those planning weddings, reunions, and sporting events.
The Visitors Bureau will print 150,000 copies of the 104 page magazine. They will be distributed throughout the State at Visitor Bureaus, Travel Michigan, and the Michigan Welcome Centers, and are also used as the main fulfillment piece at trade shows as well as for all visitor inquiries about Holland.
The contest, which ran for six weeks in April and May, was open to amateur and professional photographers, with entrants being asked to submit their best Holland-area tulip photography. Sally Laukitis, Executive Director of the Holland Area Visitors Bureau says they received over 500 entries from local residents as well as visitors from the US and abroad
Davis will receive a $500 cash prize and photo credit each time the photo is used.
An online “People’s Choice” contest will be held on the Visitor Bureau’s Facebook page beginning Wednesday, August 9th and running through Friday, August 18th. A winner will be announced on Monday, August 21st. People will have the chance to vote for their favorite photo from among the 10 photos that were finalists for this year’s cover. The People’s Choice winner will receive a $250 cash prize, with finalists receiving a $50 cash prize.
