HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A Saugatuck woman was rushed to Holland Hospital on Saturday, July 29 after falling out of a boat on the Kalamazoo River and injuring her arm, according to an article in the Holland Sentinel.
Joy Lowe, 45, was riding in a boat on the Kalamazoo River between I-196 and the boat launch at 63rd St. in Fennville when the accident took place. At approximately 5:30 p.m., the boat hit a large wake, sending Lowe into the water. Lowe hit her arm on the boat’s propeller, causing a severe injury.
The Sentinel report also stated that AMR ambulance, Saugatuck Twp. Fire and Rescue, and Allegan Country Sheriff’s Marine Division responded to the accident that day. Lowe was taken to Holland Hospital for treatment.
