HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Holland has been nominated for another tourism award from USA Today.
The Virginia-based newspaper has having another Reader’s Choice contest on their 10best.com website, and Holland is going against 20 other Michigan cities for the title of Best Michigan Attraction.
The nominees were chosen by five panelists, all of them prominent Michigan travel writers. Of the nominees, three destinations -including Holland- are in the West Michigan Area.
According to the leaderboards, Holland is in 4th place behind Mackinac Island, Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, and Frederik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids. Listeners can vote by going to 10best.com/awards. Voting ends at 11:59 a.m. on August 28 EDT and the winners will be announced on 10Best on September 1 at 12:00 p.m. EDT.
Sally Laukitis, Executive Director of the Holland Vistors Bureau, says this award would be another notch in Holland’s award-belt. “It’s one more marketing tool for us and even to be named as one of the top 20 attractions, that’s a feather in our hat,” says Laukitis.
Holland has already received the USA Today Readers’ Choice for Best Flower Festival in 2016, among awards from other publications.
