GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Twelve jury members return to the Ottawa County Courthouse in Grand Haven today to begin a second full day of deliberations in the murder trial of Aaron Joshua-John Young.
No verdict was rendered yesterday on open murder and felony firearms charges against the 26-year-old man who is accused of shooting 22-year-old Anthony Lamb to death in the parking lot of a retailer on Holland’s North Side 15 months ago. Jurors had heard five days of witness testimony and attorney arguments about an altercation between two groups outside of the Holland Hookah Lounge that led to the fatal shots, with prosecutors claiming that Young instigated the dispute, and the defense countering that Young acted in self defense.
If the jury finds Young guilty of first-degree murder, he would get mandatory life in prison without parole. The proceedings are before Circuit Court Judge Jon Hulsing.
