GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Jury selection begins today in the murder trial of a 26-year-old man.
Aaron Joshua-John Young is accused of gunning down 22-year-old Anthony Lamb of Muskegon in the parking lot of the Holland Hookah Lounge on Holland’s North Side nearly 15 months ago during an apparent dispute between two groups. The suspect was captured a year ago in the Memphis area. Two others who were arrested shortly after the incident have been convicted and sentenced on gun possession charges.
According to various reports, the preliminary hearing for Young was somewhat contentious, with several spectators being forcibly removed from the courtroom. Ottawa County Circuit Court Judge Jon Hulsing’s office says that they expect a capacity crowd to attend the trial proceedings in the main county courthouse in Grand Haven, but would not give an estimate as to how long the trial may take.
Young is being held without bond in the Ottawa County Jail on open murder charges.
