BLENDON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 14, 2025) – A 54-year-old Allendale man lost his life in a crash involving a semi and his bicycle west of Hudsonville on Friday afternoon.
No names were disclosed by Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Joshua McCarthy following the incident, which occurred shortly before 4 PM near the intersection of 72nd Avenue and Barry Street. Investigators believe that the bicyclist had been pedaling southbound and attempted to turn left when he was struck from behind by the truck, driven by a 78-year-old Kent City man, which was in the process of passing the bike on the left. The trucker was not hurt.
The incident remains under investigation.
