Esther M. Van Dyke, 89, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
Esther was born in Zeeland on June 2, 1935, to Elmer and Anna (Van Hoven) Roelofs. She graduated from Zeeland High School and later married LaVern R. Van Dyke. They raised their three children in Hamilton. Esther worked for many years in the office at Vanden Bosch Feed. She is a member of Community Church of Douglas and was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, LaVern Van Dyke, in 2023.
Esther is survived by her children, Lu Ann (James) Ritsema, Gary Van Dyke, Gordon (Cindy) Van Dyke; 7 grandchildren, Stephanie Ritsema, Derek (Nikki) Van Dyke, Becky (Dustin) Taylor, Greg (Tanya) Van Dyke, Benjamin (Sydney) Ritsema, Emilie (Todd) Rillema, Jennifer (Evan) Hoffman; 7 great grandchildren, Lincoln Taylor, MacKenzie Taylor, Andrew Hoffman, Natalie Van Dyke, Meryl Van Dyke, Zoey Van Dyke, Gage Rillema; sister Isla Brower, and brother-in-law Marvin Van Dyke; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Hamilton Reformed Church, 3554 Lincoln Rd.(M-40), Hamilton MI 49419. Visiting hours will be 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland MI 49464. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
