(Reuters) – Kirk has become a powerful extratropical cyclone, and is still causing large swells and rip current risk along the U.S. East Coast, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Monday.
Kirk is located about 655 miles (1,055 km) west-northwest of the Azores, with maximum sustained winds of 75 miles per hour (mph) (120 kph), the Miami-based forecaster said.
