HOLLAND, MI (92 7 WHTC, Nov. 3, 2026) – There will be a new operational leader for Hudsonville Ice Cream at the start of a new year, but it’s in keeping with the family.
On Monday, the Holland-based firm announced that CJ Ellens will assume the Chief Executive Officer duties on January 1, following a vote by its board of directors. He is being elevated from his Executive Vice President position, and has held a number of positions with the company over the past couple of decades.
Ellens succeeds Tina Floyd, who became the CEO in January of 2023. She had succeeded Denny Ellens, who along with his wife Scoob, had acquired Hudsonville Ice Cream in 2003 and moved operations to its current East 48th Street location. Mr. Ellens, the father of the new operational leader, died at the age of 70 this past February.
Floyd will assist CJ Ellens in a two-month-long transition period and is expected to remain close to the company afterward in an advisory capacity.
