ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 18, 2024) – A 21-year-old motorcyclist from Holland was hospitalized after crashing into a passenger vehicle near the GVSU main campus in Allendale on Wednesday afternoon.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies and other first responders were dispatched to the area of Fillmore Street near 52nd Avenue shortly before 4 PM. The westbound passenger vehicle had slowed to turn into a driveway when it was struck by the motorcycle. The initial report to Central Dispatch had indicated that the machine was pinned under the vehicle.
The biker, who was helmeted, was conscious and talking as a LIFE ambulance took him to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment; the other motorist, a 20-year-old woman from the downriver Detroit suburb of Brownstown Township, was not hurt.
No names were disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
