HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 20, 2026) — The sights, sounds, and traditions of a Dutch winter are returning to Holland this December, as Dutch Winterfest prepares for its second year with new attractions and returning holiday favorites.
Organized by the Tulip Time Festival, Dutch Winterfest will take place December 1st through the 5th, bringing a variety of activities celebrating Holland’s Dutch heritage to the downtown area.
One of this year’s biggest additions is Dutch Skate, a new attraction at the Holland Ice Park featuring skaters dressed in traditional Dutch attire. The event celebrates the Netherlands’ longstanding ice-skating traditions while showcasing one of Holland’s newest recreational attractions.
Tulip Time Executive Director Gwen Auwerda says organizers are excited to build on the festival’s inaugural year by introducing new experiences that connect the community with its Dutch roots.
Visitors will also notice additional Dutch-inspired decorations throughout downtown Holland. The Delft Downtown experience will feature oversized ornaments, painted wooden shoes, and other decorations inspired by the traditional blue-and-white Delft pottery of the Netherlands.
Several popular activities from last year’s celebration will return, including the Sinterklaas Shuffle, a family-friendly experience that takes participants on a journey through downtown Holland. Children and families will carry lanterns and passports while visiting themed stations, meeting holiday characters, and learning about the Dutch tradition of Sinterklaas.
For adults, the Proost! Tasting Tour returns, offering participants the opportunity to sample beverages and Dutch-inspired food pairings at participating downtown locations while accompanied by a guide dressed in traditional Dutch clothing.
Other activities include the Holiday Huis Tour, offering a look inside unique local buildings and spaces, along with live musical performances from Michigan-IO and the Holland Concert Jazz Orchestra.
Dutch Winterfest will complement several other holiday traditions taking place throughout Holland, including the Parade of Lights, the Kerstmarkt outdoor holiday market, and Magic at the Mill at Windmill Island Gardens.
Tickets for select activities are available now.
