OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 11, 2024) – The financial blueprint for the next year by Ottawa County Government wasn’t determined on Tuesday.
The biweekly county board business meeting was to be highlighted by a public hearing, followed by a vote, on the Fiscal Year 2025 budget. However, there was no comment offered, and after the governing panel approved closing the hearing, Board Chairman Joe Moss, a Hudsonville Republican, said:
The $284.2 million proposed spending plan includes a $3.3 million dip into reserve funds in order to balance the books, and the final vote will come on September 24th.
Putting together this budget was led by county Fiscal Services Director Karen Karasinski and Interim Administrator Jon Anderson, who submitted his notice to depart last Friday, effective on October 4th.
As for the resignation of Anderson, the board took no official action, putting the matter off on naming a replacement until September 24th at the earliest.
