WRIGHT TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 3, 2024) – A plane crash near Marne over the weekend has led to no injuries, but more questions than answers at this point.
It took the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department nearly 72 hours before disclosing some details of the white and red single-engine craft that went down in a cornfield north of the junction of 24th Avenue and Arthur Street on Saturday around 6 PM. Deputies say that there was damage to the propeller and right wing, but there were no occupants found inside the plane or nearby.
No other details were immediately disclosed, and detectives are working with agents from the Federal Aviation Administration to identify the owner, determine who was flying the craft at the time, and what led to the plane going down at that location.
