OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 31, 2024) – Take the interim off of the executive director title for Dr. Michael Brashears.
Last Friday, the Community Mental Health of Ottawa County Board of Directors formally appointed Brashears to the top operational post, giving him a five-year contract. He had been at that position from 2008 through 2013 before serving with Hope Network, David’s House Ministries, and Be Better Holland.
Brashears stepped into the leadership role in May, replacing Anna Bednarek, who had been handling those duties when Lynne Doyle, who succeeded Brashears 11 years ago, went on a medial leave in January. Doyle formally resigned her post in April.
During his first meeting with the CMH Board in June, Brashears said that there needs to be a plan of action in terms of dealing with mental health issues in the county.
Brashears had been recommended for the full-time directorship by the CMH Board’s Executive Transition Committee, which spent the months of May and June going over leadership options.
