HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 8, 2024) – As Jack Huisingh presides over Saturday’s Tulip Time Festival Volksparade as its Grand Marshal, his successor at the Holland Aquatic Center has been named.
On Tuesday, the Holland Area Community Swimming Pool Authority Board voted to name Amanda Duimstra as the new Executive Director of the facility, replacing Huisingh, who had announced his retirement in January after 11 years at the post.
Duimstra has been involved with the Holland Aquatic Center for the past quarter of a century, and moves up to the operational leadership position from her current duties as general manager.
A $30 million expansion of the facility that was completed last year has made the HAC more than just a community swimming pool when it opened in 1968.
Duimstra assumes her new responsibilities on July 1st.
