HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 14, 2023) – Another step in a process that began nearly two years ago will take place on January 30th.
That is when Dale Sowders’ retirement as CEO of Holland Hospital takes effect, although he will remain as the hospital board’s vice chairman through 2024. He had stepped down as President of the medical care facility in March of 2022, and a succession plan was put into place at that time.
During his two decades at the helm of Holland Hospital, he oversaw the facility’s growth into an independent regional health care leader, being one of just four such full-serve acute care institutions now in Michigan.
“It has been an honor to work alongside the remarkable people throughout Holland Hospital. This journey, over the past 22 years, has been profoundly rewarding, and I’m grateful for the hard work and dedication of every team member, and proud of the accomplishments that we’ve achieved together.” – Dale Sowders
Next month, a tribute will be named in his honor inside of the main hospital campus off of Michigan Avenue, with the next phase of the succession plan announced by hospital officials in February.
