Ethel was born April 3, 1929, in Burnips, to Perle W. and Ameila (Strickfaden) Goodman. She was the seventh-born of the nine Goodman children. Ethel was athletic and played on the Hudsonville High School girls basketball team. In 1946 she graduated from Hudsonville High School. Ethel also hunted, and enjoyed golfing later in her life. Ethel was a great fan of 1000 piece puzzles and a good word puzzle. She married Clayton Jones and they raised their family in Burnips & Diamond Springs. Ethel was a member of Diamond Springs Wesleyan Church for 68 years. Clayton preceded her in death in 1998. She later married Greyson Warren and he preceded her in death in 2014. Ethel was the last of the nine Goodman siblings to survive, and her son Robert Jones preceded her in death in 2018.
She is survived by her son, Ron and Pam Jones of Hamilton, daughter-in-law Joy Jones, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jennifer & Tony Van Gelder (Julia, Olivia), Jessica Vanden Bosch (Charlotte, Elijah), and many extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 Friday, December 1, 2023, at Diamond Springs Wesleyan Church, 3562 136th Ave., Hamilton MI 49419. Visitation will be 10:30-11:30 am Friday prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Salem Twp. (Burnips) Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Diamond Springs Wesleyan Church.
