POLKTON TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 11, 2023) – Traffic was snarled in the Coopersville area for some time on Friday afternoon after a two-semi collision.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Knott, an eastbound truck on I-96 apparently had the brakes on his rig lock up near the 68th Avenue exit. It caused the semi to jackknife, and a following truck was not able to avoid a collision.
The second trucker, a 57-year-old Ontario man, was taken to an undisclosed “local hospital” for treatment of “non-life threatening injuries,” while the first trucker, a 34-year-old Otsego man, was treated at the scene for bumps and bruises.
The incident remains under investigation.
