JAMESTOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 20, 2023) – A 22-year-old woman and a five-year-old boy, both from Hudsonville, were injured in a two-vehicle crash southeast of their hometown on Monday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Tamminga, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to the intersection of 24th Avenue and Greenly Street shortly before 1 PM. That was where a westbound minivan, driven by a 36-year-old Hudsonville woman with two children inside, apparently drove through a stop sign and collided with a southbound SUV. The force of the crash threw the boy out of the vehicle, and he was underneath the SUV in a ditch for a short time before deputies pulled him out.
That child, along with the younger woman driving the SUV, were taken to undisclosed “local” hospitals for treatment, while the other child and the apparently at-fault driver were not hurt. No names were disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
