GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 23, 2023) – A 39-year-old Wyoming woman was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash south of Jenison on Wednesday evening.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Chris Koster, deputies and other first responders were dispatched to 44th Street at Gleneagle Highlands Drive, just west of Kenowa Avenue, just before 7 PM. That was where the woman, driving a sedan, was eastbound when she lost control on the slick roadway, veered into oncoming westbound traffic, and her vehicle was hit by a westbound pickup truck. The force of the collision sent the two vehicles onto the north side of the road.
The woman had to be extricated from her automobile and was taken to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for treatment. The pickup driver, a 66-year-old Jenison man, was not hurt. No names were disclosed.
It took about two and a half hours to clear up matters, closing this busy artery as a result. The crash remains under investigation.
