GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 14, 2022) – For the second time in less than 18 months, Kent County has raided the Lakeshore for an administrative leadership position.
On Monday, Scott Corbin was named the new Kent County Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator, effective next Monday, November 21. He has been the Allegan County Emergency Management Director for 18 years, and is in his second four-year term as a Holland City Councilman for Ward 5. A two-time president of the Michigan Emergency Management Association, Corbin has an extensive background in law enforcement, and his new responsibilities will include the development and implementation of disaster plans, coordinate local anti-terrorism planning efforts and more.
Last June, Al Vanderberg was chosen as Kent County’s new Administrator, returning to Grand Rapids after leaving there as that county’s Deputy Administrator in 2003 for an 18-year-run as Ottawa County Administrator.
