LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 25, 2022) – A business expansion effort in Holland is getting a boost from Lansing.
The Michigan Strategic Fund board on Tuesday announced the approval of funding several wide-ranging projects across the state. Among the initiatives getting the OK is a expansion of JR Automation’s planned $9.9 million renovation of the former Genzink Steel building off of East 64th Street.
New machinery and equipment will be included in the overhaul of the 100,000 square-foot facility, and the $2.25 million performance-based grant from the Michigan Business Development Program will help create what the automated manufacturer and system integrator hope are 140 “high-wage” jobs. The Holland City Council will be asked to approve a property tax abatement in support of the project, which is expected to take about six months to complete.
