HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 25, 2022) – The Holland City Council has one business matter to take care of before talking about the past and the future this evening.
In a special 6 PM meeting ahead of the regularly-scheduled work-study session, the Tulip City’s governing board is expected to formally set a public hearing for next Wednesday, June 1st, ahead of a vote on the proposed Community Development Block Grant annual action plan for Fiscal 2023.
When the work-study session begins afterward, in which no formal action is taken, council will go over the latest developments in a proposed outdoor community ice rink at Window on the Waterfront Park. There are three separate initiatives for Windmill Island Gardens under consideration – allowing a special liquor license for the Art on the Island Gala set for September 8th; establishing a reserve fund through the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area for enhancing long-term funding of the home of the DeZwaan Windmill; and approve a budget increase so a new “Magic at the Mill” Christmas holiday program on the island can be established.
Also during the work-study session, council members will discussed a proposed 2023 Strategic and Business Plan for Holland.
Council meets this evening in the second floor Training Center at Holland City Hall. An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
