HOLLAND TWP, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 25, 2022) – Four women were hurt on Friday evening in a two-vehicle crash at one of the area’s busiest intersections on Holland’s North Side.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jon Smoes, deputies and first responders were dispatched shortly after 5 PM to the junction of Douglas Avenue and River Avenue. That was where a westbound SUV on Douglas, driven by a 41-year-old from Holland, attempted to turn left onto southbound River and went into the path of an eastbound vehicle, driven by a 28-year-old, also from Holland, resulting in a collision.
The two drivers involved, along with one of the two passengers in the westbound vehicle, a 54-year-old from Comstock Park – suffered minor ailments and “sought their own treatment,” according to Smoes. Another passenger in the westbound vehicle, a 71-year-old from the Manistee area, was taken to Holland Hospital for treatment of “non-life threatening injuries.”
No names were disclosed. The crash remains under investigation.
