HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 8, 2022) – Two topics will be spotlighted during Wednesday evening’s Holland City Council work-study session.
The first will be a presentation of a Broadband Survey Executive Summary conducted by Hope College’s Frost Center for Data and Research into “how the community feels about further development of Holland BPW’s fiber network,” according to the report by the BPW to a Broadband Advisory Group looking into if and how to expand that network. “The results identify strong support for the idea that all residents should have access to the Internet, and that most residents want lower costs and more reliable Internet service.”
The other issue involves a long-term financial forecast for Holland, as City Manager Keith Van Beek and the city’s Finance Director Lynn McCammon go over “the results of a significant amount of work by staff to update and create a more robust long-term financial forecast and model.” The two say that this subject will be an ongoing talking point.
The work-study session will begin in Holland City Hall at 6 PM.
