HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 4, 2022) – With temperatures tickling 60 this weekend along the Lakeshore, there’s no time like the present to begin spring cleaning.
Holland’s annual Spring Cleanup gets underway in earnest next weekend, as crews will begin a four-week-long sweep of neighborhoods to freshen things up ahead of the Tulip City’s signature event. In a statement, city officials say, “Residents may rake yard clippings, shrub trimmings, and wind-blown twigs into the curb or road shoulders for pickup by Street Department Crews. Heavy limbs, stumps, garbage and refuse in bags will not be removed and must be disposed of by other means.”
Street Department staffers will conduct at least one, if not more, sweeps before a final round up that begins on April 4th. Priority will be given to streets with curbs and gutters in order to minimize debris washing into storm sewers.
