DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Zach Fucale had quite the NHL debut. Fucale made 21 saves in his NHL debut in the Washington Capitals’ 2-oh win over the Red Wings in Detroit Thursday night.
Dmitry Orlov and Lars Eller put Washington on top early with first period goals. The Caps are 7-2-and-4 with the win.
Dylan Larkin led the Red Wings with four shot attempts. Detroit’s Thomas Greiss made 27 saves as the Red Wings three-game winning streak ended.
The Red Wings are now 7-6-and-2. They wrap up a four-game homestand against their Original Six-rival Montreal Canadiens tomorrow night.
