COOPERSVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The search for a missing 15-year-old girl from the Marne area has ended on an apparent happy note.
On Thursday evening (Oct. 28, 2021), Ottawa County Sheriff’s Detective Captain Jake Sparks announced that Abby Hernandez-Alcantara was located by Sheriff’s deputies around 8 PM in the Coopersville area. “Abby was not injured,” Sparks said in a department statement. “Sheriff’s Detectives and Deputies had been working with her family to learn her whereabouts.”
He made no mention of any other circumstances as to what led to her discovery, or as to her condition, as she was reported pregnant at the time of her disappearance.
Family members had notified authorities on October 13th that Hernandez-Alcantara left her Wright Township home and never boarded her school bus in the morning. It was believed that she had left for the Belding area, where she had been staying for the previous week, and at the time of her disappearance, foul play was not suspected.
