EAST LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Both Michigan and Michigan State will be in action on Sunday afternoon. The fourth-ranked Spartans host Oakland at noon at the Breslin Center. It’s M.S.U.’s final non-conference game before they open the Big Ten schedule next Sunday against Northwestern. Michigan opens Big Ten play against Penn State at the Crisler Center starting at 2:00 p.m.. The Wolverines have lost the services of forward Austin Davis after he injured his right foot against Toledo on Wednesday night. The school announced on Friday that Davis has a plantar fascia injury from a noncontact movement. He will begin rehabilitation immediately. Davis was averaging six points and 3.6 rebounds a game.
Western Michigan has two home games this weekend. They will host Detroit-Mercy Saturday afternoon and Milwaukee on Sunday. Central Michigan will host Valparaiso this afternoon.
