SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The smell of smoke brought firefighters to a downtown South Haven salon on Saturday morning.
Members of the South Haven Area Emergency Services were dispatched to the Urban Studio Salon and Spa on Phoenix Street just before 9 AM. An employee heading in to work for the day smelled smoke upon entering. Responders spotted a piece of equipment burning on a shelf in a second-floor room and was able to confine the blaze to that area, clearing out the smoke before leaving.
No initial estimate of damage was made, and no cause as to what led that piece of equipment to start burning was immediately determined.
