LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Allegan County’s Board Chairman will remain on a statewide panel.
Jim Storey was reelected to a second of three possible three-year terms on the Michigan Association of Counties Board of Directors during Wednesday’s Virtual Annual Conference. The Holland Republican ran unopposed for the Region 3 seat that covers 14 counties in the southwest corner of the state, including the cities of Holland, Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Jackson and Benton Harbor/St. Joseph.
Storey, who has been an Allegan County Commissioner since 2013 and its Board Chairman since last year, is one of five incumbents reelected during regional caucus voting.
In its mission statement, the 122-year-old MAC “is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that advances education, communication and cooperation among county government officials in Michigan. MAC is the counties’ voice at the state and federal level, providing legislative support on key issues affecting counties.”
