HOLLAND (WTHC-AM/FM) — A 17-year-old woman is seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle just before 8:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2020.
Allegan County Sheriff’s deputies, called to the scene at 124th Avenue and 66th Street in Saugatuck Township, learned the vehicle had been traveling west on 124th Avenue when it hit the teen, who had been riding as a passenger a stand up-style scooter, also westbound.
Conditions were foggy, police said.
The woman, thrown from the scooter, landed on the road’s shoulder. She went by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor at this time. The scooter operator is also a 17-year-old woman.
Michigan State Police, Saugatuck Fire, and Life EMS assisted deputies at the scene.
