HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A three-car crash just before 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020, sent an 87-year-old Spring Lake woman to the hospital.
Ottawa County Sheriffs deputies at the crash scene, on North Fruitport Road, south of Connelly Street at Petty’s Bauyou parking ramp in Spring Lake Township found tan 87-year- old Spring Lake man, driving a Cadillace south on North Fruitport, failed to see a southbound Chevy Cruz, with a 28-year-old Nunica man at the wheel.
The Nunica man had stopp on the road, behind a Chevy pick up, being driven by a 64-year-old Muskegon man. The Muskegon man was waiting for traffic to clear to turn into the Petty’s Bayou Boat Launch.
The Cadillac struck the rear of the Chevy Cruz, forcing the Cruz into the pick up.
An 87-year-old woman riding as a passenger in the Cadillac went by ambulance to North Ottawa Community Hospital with what police called non-life-threating injuries. No one else was hurt.
Police ticketed the Cadillac driver for failing to stop within an assured clear distance.
