HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The Holland Street Performers Series is every Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with different performers every week along 8th street in downtown Holland.
Tonight the Holland Area Arts Council go mobile and will be on hand with their “Art Cart.” Sally Laukitis of the Holland Area Visitors Bureau says it’s an art studio on wheels.
“They have a wheeled art supply table and they can just pop it open and it’s got all sorts of craft supplies with people on hand to help the kids do crafts. It’s very innovative and very cool. It reminds me of like the old ice cream wagons that people used to push down the street except it’s not filled with ice cream. It’s filled with art supplies.”
Holland Christian School will also be on hand for their Pop-Up School just outside GDK park where kids can create and race rice paper airplanes and make Lego mazes.
8th Street will also be filled with jugglers, musicians, face painters, belly dancers, magicians and more. The event is free and runs every Thursday through August 31.
