HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – It is a somber day in Holland and at the Holland Civic Center you can hear a pin drop.
Tuesday’s partial collapse of the Civic Center’s roof has left a man is dead and another in stable condition at Holland Hospital. A few construction workers from the construction firm Geenen DeKock Properties were on site Wednesday morning, but not at liberty to talk to WHTC News.
Patrons at the Holland Farmer’s Market seems to be in a daze following Tuesday’s tragedy. Many not wanting to talk and others standing near the site shocked.
One woman told WHTC News that she just was standing at the fence and praying. Other’s remarked about how tragic the accident is and some said that they are surprised something like this has happened before considering the building is 60 years old.
Officials have not identified the men and it is not yet known what caused the incident. WHTC News will update this story as more information becomes available.
