ALLENDALE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A 55-year-old Grand Rapids man who was not wearing a helmet has died after being struck on his motorcycle.
Gregory Lewis Pierson died at the scene after efforts were made to save his life.
Ottawa County Sheriff Deputies and officers from Grand Valley State University were dispatched to the scene at 8th Avenue just north of Lake Michigan around 9:04 p.m. in Allendale Township on Monday, July 31.
Sgt. Cal Kuening says that 22-year-old Lindsay Rascke of Highland, Michigan was turning into University Park off of 48th Avenue when she struck Pierson’s motorcycle that was heading southbound on 48th Avenue.
Arriving officers started CPR on Pierson and continued until Life EMS arrived on the scene. Raske received non-life-threatening injuries in the crash which remains under investigation.
