HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A Holland woman went to the hospital after an injury crash and a Holland man was ticketed for causing it, just after 10 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2020.
The crash, on the westbound Business I-196 loop, near Van Hill Drive in Holland Township, drew Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies, Holland Township firefighters, and an AMR Ambulance crew.
The 28-year-old Holland man, driving a 2011 Nissan west on I-196, told police later he didn’t see a 2009 Pontiac Vibe, with a 22-year-old Holland woman at the wheel, just ahead of him on the road.
The Nissan hit the Vibe, sending the Vibe off the road and into a ditch.
Police closed westbound I-196 just after the crash for investigaton and clean-up. The Holland woman’s injuries were non-life-threatening, according to police.
Traffic crashes have increased as “stay home” rules for the pandemic have been eased.
