HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 25-year-old Grand Haven man is in Ottawa County jail, after losing control of the Subaru he was driving Sunday morning, and crashing into two cars and a house.
Police were called to Quebec Drive, just east of 148th Avenue, in the Country Estates Mobile Home Community, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Christie WendtPolice determined the Grand Haven man had been speeding when he lost control of the Subaru, which went off the road, hitting a Mercury Milan and Volkswagen, which were parked in the driveway of a residence. The Subaru continued across the road, going off the south side and hitting a home.
In addition to the Subaru driver, the vehicle had three passengers. No one was hurt. No one was in the home. The other vehicles involved were unoccupied. The crash did do what police called “significant damage” to the home.
The driver of the Subaru was arrested at the scene and remains in Ottawa County Jail until arraignment, after which his name will be released.
