HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – As the Hope Summer Repertory Theatre’s 2018 season draws to a close, the slate for 2019 has been finalized.
The Holland-based school formally announced today that six productions will be forthcoming for the 48th renewal of the annual series that, “address the needs of, and enhance the quality of life for, Hope College and the community.” “West Side Story,” Shakespeare in Love,” “truth: The Testimonial of Sojourner Truth,” “Murder for Two,” “The Old Man and The Old Moon,” and “Elephant and Piggie’s ‘We are in a Play!’” Attendees to last night’s closing performance of “Godspell” were told of the upcoming attractions.
In addition to disclosing the productions, HSRT officials also said that actors Ben Lohrberg and Sara Ornelas, who were involved in some of this year’s performances, have committed to returning in the roles of Tony and Maria in “West Side Story.”
The 2019 season will begin during the first week of June, with exact dates to be announced. Early-bird season tickets at 2018 prices are available through the school’s ticket office in the Anderson-Werkman Financial Center off of East 8th Street in downtown Holland.
The curtain comes down on the current HSRT season with performances of “The Wiz” tonight and tomorrow afternoon at the DeWitt Center.
