TRAVERSE CITY, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 14, 2026) – The new leader of the group which speaks for municipalities across the state comes from the Lakeshore.
Wayland Mayor Jennifer Antel was named the new board president for the Michigan Municipal League during its annual conference on Mackinac Island last week. She was elevated from her vice presidential position to replace Lapeer Commissioner Joshua Atwood for the 2026-27 term.
Berkley Councilman Dennis Hennen will be the new number two, while Grand Haven Councilman Mike Fritz remains as a trustee for the group which advocates on behalf of member communities in Lansing, Washington, and the courts, while providing educational opportunities and administrative assistance to local leaders.
