ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 14, 2026) – The League of Women Voters of the Holland Area is taking a different tack in advance of the November 3rd General Election.
On Wednesday, the non-partisan organization focused on voter education will be holding a “Candidates of ’26: A Celebration of Democracy” meet and greet session in the ballroom of Zeeland’s Howard Miller Library and Community Center (14 S. Church St.). Invited to attend are those in competitive races for legislative, judicial, and Congressional seats involving the immediate Holland/Zeeland Area:
- Bill Huizenga & Sean McCann for US House
- Chris Kleinjans and John Wetzel for state Senate
- Richard Abraham, Nancy DeBoer, Joseph McClusky and Bradley Slagh for state House
- Juanita Bocanegra Paul Ledford and Anna White for 58th District Court
Instead of a formal debate, in which the candidates would have faced questions from a LWV moderator, the hopefuls will make a brief presentation to the entire group, and then meet individually with attendees over the two-and-a-half-hour session, which begins at 6:30 PM.
