LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 25, 2026) – A planned expansion of a dairy facility in Coopersville is getting a boost from Lansing.
On Tuesday, the Michigan Strategic Fund board approved a $17 million Strategic Site Readiness Program grant to that Ottawa County community for improvements to a regional water system. While the 50-year-old setup is at 80% capacity and due for an overhaul, the impetus for the funds comes from an upcoming $650 million expansion of the Fairlife complex off of West Randall Street.
The wholly-owned subsidiary of the Coca-Cola company produces ultra-filled, lactose-free milk and protein shakes. The project, which would add two additional state-of-the-art, high-speed production lines to meet growing consumer demand, should create 150 new jobs. The strategic fund board also approved a 15-year, Alternative State Essential Services Assessment Abatement with the company, valued at nearly $4 million.
The infrastructure expansion will consist of building a new 20-inch water main from Polkton Township to Coopersville city, as well as adding a new million-gallon water tank.
